A Moon Watch Story
First introduced in 1957, the Speedmaster was designed as a sporting watch. That quickly changed in the early 1960s, when NASA decided to test chronographs in an effort to have astronauts wear the most reliable, accurate one available into space. Omega's Speedmaster was victorious and was officially certified by NASA in 1965, just four years before the famous Apollo 11 mission to the moon where the three men all had Speedys strapped to their wrists. This hardbound book plots the entire Speedmaster journey, from its humble beginnings to the NASA tests, the moon mission, and the fame and models that followed.
